Smart Capture Overview

Smart Capture is a backend process that is designed to automatically extract table data from OCR files without the use of templates. This reduces the amount of work clients must perform. It can be disabled on a per payor basis.

Employ the Smart Capture to determine when a remittance has been matched and what the table data was matched against. It enables the user to choose the best way to match line items. Smart Capture:

• Shows the image template data
• Shows all of the data it automatically extracted
• Displays exactly what table data was used for which matches; for example, Search 1 or Search 2
• Automatically compares data that Smart Capture extracted to the actual remittance image
• Displays color-coded tables that Smart Capture was successfully applied to; snippets are green, regions are dotted lines, and yellow are selected rows
• Envelopes containing Smart Capture data are not available from the Template Creation work queue
• Users can rotate the images

Smart Capture users can

• Change which table data columns are searched. This action applies only to the currently displayed page. It can result in better match results, but this is not guaranteed,
• Apply changes and run the envelope through Data Reconstruction (DR) to match it against the new search criteria.

Users cannot switch between views. The extractions appear in the Image Viewer just like they do with templates. All of the extracted data shows up in the line items table; again just like templates.
