Create account correspondence templates
Create templates to speed up account contact communication without losing personalisation. You can make templates for unpaid invoice reminders, payment plan schedules, and account statements.
Steps
- In the Collections navigation header, select Settings → Settings.
- Select a template type from the left menu. Available template types are:
- Reminder templates
- Payment plan templates
- Account statement templates
- General templates
- Select Add new template.
- Select the company to which the template applies and then select Add template.
- If you are creating a general template, also select the type of template you want to create.
- Select Add a new language, select the language in which you want to add template content, and then select Add language.
- Use the template editor to customise the message contents. See Use the Template Editor for instructions.
- Select Save.
Troubleshooting
Templates must be linked to a company.
You must always link a template to a company. If you manage multiple accounts in Collections, you must create separate templates for each company.
Templates cannot be copied across companies.
You cannot copy a template from one company to another. Instead, open a new template in a split window and copy the text and settings from the original template manually.
Language mismatch prevents template use.
If an account’s language is not supported by a template, you cannot use that template to send automatic or manual reminders. To resolve this, either create a reminder template in the account’s language or change the account’s language to one for which a template exists.

Need Help?
If a template is not available when sending a manual reminder, confirm that the template is linked to the correct company and that a version exists in the account’s language. Contact the Billtrust Support team for further assistance.
