Email Exception Assistant
The Email Exception Assistant gives AR teams a centralized dashboard to identify, research and resolve email delivery failures that delay invoice delivery and payment. The dashboard surfaces failed emails by account, recommends alternate contact addresses using AI, and supports both manual and automated resends.
Email Exceptions Management queue
Email Exceptions Management groups email delivery failures by email address so AR specialists can prioritize the highest-value at risk first.
-
Log in to the Invoicing workspace.
-
Select Exceptions tab.
The Email Exceptions Management queue is a prioritized list that displays documents:
- attempted to be emailed but not delivered to any address successfully
- have an open balance
You will also find on the Email Exception Management queue:
- the sum of the open balance and total document count per email address
- AI-recommended alternate email addresses with a confidence score and reason
- options to resend to a recommended address or a manually entered address
- options to create an automation rule to resend any future failed invoices to a new address
Documents with an open balance of $0 are excluded from the Exceptions Queue.
Email recommendations
When a user resends a failed email to an alternate address, the system records that address as the preferred alternate for that account.
Email deliverability analytics (Analytics workspace)
The analytics dashboard shows email delivery performance over time so AR managers can identify trends and measure the impact of automation.
The dashboard includes:
-
Failed emails over time, with resolved failures remaining visible to show progress
-
Resolved rates tied to open balances on previously failed documents
-
Resend volume by method, showing manual resends compared to automated resends
Exceptions Log
The Exceptions Log is a flat list for researching and resending individual failed emails. You can use it to find specific delivery failures by date or account without grouping by contact.

Log in to the Invoicing workspace.
-
Select Exceptions tab.
-
Hover on Emails subheader.
-
Choose Exception Log from the drop-down.
The Exception Log opens and displays the following email types:

Each rule record displays:

Automated destination address
-
Failure reason
-
Rule status
-
Last execution date
